Seminar. The Kunstlerroman. A Genre Between Fiction and History, 18th and 19th Centuries.

Kunstlerromans are traditionally designated as novels in which the figure of the formative artist – and in particular the painter – as the main subject. The aim of the present seminar is to consider the genre of the Kunstlerroman as a variant of the bildungsroman as well as an alternative to the historiographic genre of the history of art.

Seminar. Revolts: Collective Incidents of Violence in the 19th and 20th Centuries.
In this seminar, we concern ourselves comparatively with a number of collective violent uprisings: the Silesian Weavers' Uprising of 1844, the East Prussian "Klusenrevolution" of 1874, the Halle March Struggles of 1919, the Brixton Riot of 1981, and the riots in Rostock of 1992.

For Kant, Religion contributes nothing to the foundation of ethics. Nevertheless, morality cannot guarantee its own realization. The role of religion is significant in this regard. This work by Kant shall be read and interpreted in this seminar.
Lecture. Fundamental Concepts of (Christian) Ethics
This lecture course investigates the fundamental concepts of Christian ethics and to what extent Christianity itself is an ethical phenomenon.
Block Seminar. Schleiermacher's Aesthetics
This block seminar investigates Schleiermacher's conception of aesthetics. The seminar centers on participation in the Symposium "Schleiermacher's Aesthetics" organized by the International Schleiermacher Society. The symposium will take place 12/03–12/05 in the Leucorea in Wittenberg.
